Yulienke Jacobs is the first South African to win the Miss Teen International in history

Ecuador (19 October 2022) – Yulienke Jacobs – a young South African teen from Johannesburg – was crowned Miss Teen International, one of the most important beauty pageant for teenagers from around the world, which took place last night in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Miss Teen Universe in Dubai

Dubai the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) hosts Miss Teen Universe.

The competition will bring together about 20 contestants from all over the world, including Brazil, India, Malaysia, Peru, Portugal and South Africa in the world final on March 7.

Bibyana Marquez, 17, from the USA, current Miss Teen Universe will crown her successor.


Peruvian Sofía Cajo will compete in Miss Europe Continental 2022

Sofia Cajo, 23 years-old, stands 176cm tall and has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lima was crowned Miss Europe Continental Peru 2022 and she will represent Peru at the international pageant. She speaks English and is also an advertising model. She is one of the most renowned models and content creators in her country. She has worked for important brands such as Nivea, Cyzone, Bimbo among others.

Sofia is also the founder of Manena foods, that bring quality natural products such as olive oil, honey, nuts that perfectly complement diets. She is also the founder of Samu’s Place, a brand that produced accessories for dogs and the profits of which are donated to Ayuda Peluda, a non-profit organization providing shelters to dogs.

She is currently preparing to win the first crown for Latin America.

Meet the Delegates

The Miss Mauritius national organization is all set to host the coronation ceremony for Miss Mauritius 2021 pageant where the reigning Miss Mauritius 2019 Angélique Sanson will crown her successor, who will represent the country at the Miss World 2022 pageant.

This year, 14 stunning delegates are competing for the title and to represent the country at the international platform. So, without any further ado, let’s meet the delegates competing for Miss Mauritius 2021 –

Delia Gemmie Dabydin

Delia Dabydin, 21 years old, hails from Rose-Hill and is currently a sales and administrative manager in a company specializing in the sale and repair of car tires. She is passionate about dance and art. Self-taught, the diva gives free reign to her creativity. Aware of the repercussions of pollution, Delia contributes to implementing more eco-responsible choices.

Marie Sarah Julia Bernard

19 years-old Julia Bernard is a journalism student at the University of Mauritius. She describes herself as a rather simple girl but who talks a lot. The diva likes to converse and discover different ways of thinking. Like her mother, she has a passion for reading and history. Julia has been practicing classical ballet since the age of 5 and recently, contemporary dance.

Megane Marie Alix Leger

Megane Leger is a last year student of English and French literature as well as sociology at the Dr Maurice Curé State College. She lives in Curepipe and is thinking of opting for tertiary studies in psychology to pursue a career in child psychology.

Estellina Ah-Hon

Estellina is a 21 year-old student and director, currently doing a degree in international business management. She also owns a B2B company specializing in the distribution of hygiene and cleaning products across the island. She describes herself as dynamic, independent and always ready to embark on new adventures to better enrich her knowledge.

Varsha Devi Prim

Living in Deux-Freres, Varsha is 23 years old and is currently studying Tourism and Hospitality Management at Vatel Mauritius. During the pandemic, she started her own small business account on Instagram around DIY crafts. Recently, she has developed a new hobby: hiking, trekking and discovering natural places all around the Island. Joining the pageant has been one of her dreams since she was young and today standing here has given her more Self-Confidence.

Anne-Laure Darcy Guillemain

Anne-Laure Guillemain, 23 years old, resident of Terre-Rouge is a graduate from IATA and was a flight attendant at Air Mauritius for two years, then front desk officer/customer relationship in an offshore company. She is passionate about simple things, painting and aviation. Currently the diva plans on embarking on further studies and the job market.

Marie Tracy Winnie Prodigson

Hailing from Vuillemain Q. Militaire, Tracy is a professional model and has been modelling since she was 15 years old. Being part of the fashion industry was her biggest dream and the 18 year-old is working hard on making her dreams come true. Being part of the Miss Mauritius pageant will take me one step closer to her goals.

Marie Esha Ghanishta Luchoomun

Esha Luchoomun, 18 years old is awaiting her results of the HSC. Passionate about social issues, she decided to participate in Miss Mauritius because she would like to make her voice heard in order to fight against domestic violence and would like to promote the multiculturalism of the beautiful island.

Aadilah Bibi Auckloo

21 years-old Aadilah is a resident of Union Park and a 3rd year student and currently doing a bachelor degree in the Hospitality and Tourism Management sector. The diva describes herself as a simple girl living a simple life who is very fond of adventurous places and nature exploration.

Sakshee Sissoagur Jeewon

Sakshee Sissoagur-Jeewon is currently working in the audit department for an accounting firm. Her motto in life is that irrespective of what you look like on the outside, emphasis should be put on what you have to offer to the world because beauty is meant to be authentic, not perfect. The diva strongly believes that this platform would enable her to bring forward the concept of beauty with a purpose by promoting values ??that are close to her heart, notably respect, humility and empathy as well as emphasizing not only one cause but on several causes that impact the beautiful island.

Zakiyyah

Zakiyyah, 20 years of age residing at Phoenix is currently doing a BSC in Business Administration. She is passionate about the Fashion industry and is a social butterfly. The diva aspires to be a successful business woman and a role model for future generations. She loves her simple life but believes in chasing dreams as this is what makes life exciting and worth living.

Zina Peerally

21 years-old Zina was born in Paris and is of Mauritian origin. She graduated with a Bachelor in Digital Marketing. She describes herself as open, very friendly and with a great interest in humanitarianism and ecology.

Liza Tracy Gundowry

Liza Gundowry is 24 years-old and has recently finished a Masters in African Studies at the University of Oxford. She aspires to work for the advancement of the African continent. The diva holds a keen interest in performing arts and media and had the privilege of working for MTV London. More recently, she was a host for the Mauritius Open Air Festival in London.

Marie Brigette Meunier

21 year-old Brigette hails from Roche Bois and is currently working as a Stock Controller. She describes herself as a simple girl, a little shy and not very sociable. For her, the competition is a challenge and at the same time an opportunity to get out of her bubble a little and discovering other facets of the world that are still unknown to her.

Mike van Wijk appointed as Mister Global Netherlands 2022

He will represent Netherlands at the 7th Mister Global contest in Thailand.

Mike van Wijk has been named as the new Mister Global Netherlands and will represent his country at the 7th Mister Global pageant in Mahasarakham, Thailand next month.

The 22-year-old entrepreneur from Sint-Michielsgestel currently works in construction and plans to open his own personal trainer studio in the future. He was a runner-up in Misters of the Netherlands 2021 and was originally supposed to join 21th edition of Manhunt International.

The pageant will be hosting its 7th edition on March 15 in Thailand. More than 30 inspiring gentlemen from around the world are expected to compete for the international title.

On Saturday, Miss Pennsylvania Earth, Natalia Salmon, was crowned Miss Earth USA.

Paraguay welcomes Nadia Ferreira Miss Universe 2021 first runner-up

The Miss Universe organization hosted the 70th edition of the international pageant on 12th December 2021 in Eilat, Israel where Harnaaz Sandhu of India was crowned as Miss Universe 2021.

At the end of the event, Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira was also crowned as the first runner-up to Miss Universe 2021 after a successful and highly appreciated journey at the competition and giving her country the highest placement at Miss Universe in history.

Welcomed by a massive crowd at the airport arrival Nadia joined some traditional dancers to celebrate her achievement and was overwhelmed with emotions looking at the sea of people present to receive the queen with warm hearts, cheering her name out loud.



The model then headed to a small ceremony organized for her homecoming where she was honoured and presented with some gifts including a large portrait of the stunning queen. She also interacted with the media and shared her gratitude towards all the love and support.

“What advice would you give to young women watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today?” Nadia answered, “I have been through so many hard situations in my life, but I overcame them, so I want all women, all people who are watching in this moment to join forces and do what you are meant to do, because you can do it. No matter the situation, you can overcome it and always be victorious.”

Nadia’s performance throughout the competition was highly commendable and was definitely a strong contender for the crown since the beginning of the competition. For the final question round, the model gave a strong answer as the finalists were asked, “What advice would you give to young women watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today?”

Nadia answered, “I have been through so many hard situations in my life, but I overcame them, so I want all women, all people who are watching in this moment to join forces and do what you are meant to do, because you can do it. No matter the situation, you can overcome it and always be victorious.”

Miss World 2021 temporarily postponed due to covid outbreak

The coronation ceremony of the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant that was scheduled to be held on 16th December 2021 has been temporarily postponed due to the Covid-19 cases amongst the contestants and other staff. The organization has to postpone the global broadcast finale due to the safety interests of its staff and contestants.

Reportedly, 17 people, including the contestants and crew of the organization contracted the coronavirus. These contestants also include India’s Manasa Varanasi, Indonesia’s Carla Yules and Malaysia’s Lavanya SIvaji among others. The Miss World Organisation announced the news of the COVID-19 outbreak which led to the postponement of the show. The organisation released an official statement via their social media.

The official statement read, “Miss World 2021 temporarily postpones global broadcast finale in Puerto Rico due to health and safety interest of contestants, staff, crew and general public. The finale will be rescheduled at Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot within the next 90 days.”

 “As of yesterday, additional safety measures were implemented in the best interest of the contestants, production team and spectators, understanding the event increased risks on the stage and in the dressing room. However, after additional positive cases were confirmed this morning after consulting with health officials and experts, the postponement decision was made. The next step according to the medical experts is immediate quarantine, pending observation and further testing according to best practices in situations like this. Once and only when contestants and staff are cleared by health officials and advisors, will contestants and related staff return to their home countries.” they added.

Julia Morley, Miss World chairman, also addressed the situation to share, “We are very much looking forward to the return of our contestants, (who we have grown to know and love), to compete for the Miss World crown.” After meeting with the virologists and medical experts hired to oversee the Miss World 2021 event and discussing with the Puerto Rico Health Department, the decision was made by the organizers of the event to postpone the globally broadcast finale at the Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot to be held within the next 90 days.

Andrea Meza Miss Universe 2020 joins Telemundo as host

Mexican Miss Universe 69th edition, Andrea Meza, announces her new role as a host for Telemundo Network during the 70th edition of Miss Universe.

Andrea Meza told Steve Harvey, who is hosting the international beauty pageant, she is looking forward to this new life-changing opportunity.

“I am very happy to announce that I am a new host of Telemundo. I am very grateful to the organization of Miss Universe because all the incredible things that have happened to me in my life is thanks to this decision I made a few years ago to participate”, Meza said.

It was in May 2021 when Andrea Meza was crowned Miss Universe, becoming the winner with the shortest reign, since the contest had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I am a little moved. It was only seven months, but it was something very intense in my life, which changed me completely”, said the Mexican beauty queen, who also indicated what stood out to her the most during her reign.

“I would say that it was being able to work with vulnerable groups of women, because you realize that you have the power to inspire others with your actions, and that is a great responsibility. I think what gives me the most satisfaction is that”, Meza assured.

India’s Harnaaz Sandhu wins Miss Universe 2021

India’s Harnaaz Sandhu is the new Miss Universe, 21 years after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000.

The 21-year-old from Punjab claimed the crown edging out Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira and South Africa’s Lalela Mswane.

Before the Chandigarh-based model, only two Indians have won the title of Miss Universe – actors Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.

On being asked what advice she would give to young women on how to deal with the pressures they face, a composed Ms Sandhu said, “The biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to believe in themselves, to know that you are unique and that’s what makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others and let’s talk about more important things that’s happening worldwide.”

“This is what you need to understand. Come out, speak for yourselves because you are the leader of your life, you are the voice of your own. I believed in myself and that’s why I am standing here today,” Sandhu said with aplomb.
